I'll spare you my "getting here" story this year... suffice to say that as always it involved red-eye flights from the west coast and sleep deprivation.

This year we are driving the 1954 Jaguar XK-120. This is the car Dad & I drove in the 2000 La Carrera Nevada. It has been tuned and "broken in" so to speak, and now has a lot more "grunt" according to Dad. Should be fun.

Dad picks me up at the airport in Burlington, Vermont and I promptly pass out in the front seat of his tow vehicle while he drives to the Basin Harbor Club on the east shore of Lake Champlain. We arrive and unload the Jag from the trailer and take a spin into town to gas up. We head back to the room and I nap while dad gets the car ready to go.

The rally participants put on an informal concourse on the lawn at the club:

Notice the wedding in the background!

I will caption all these pics at some point, I promise. =)

Then we drove over to RPM, the Markowski's restoration shop that specializes in Ferraris, fro some snacks and ogling at cool cars in various states of restoration.

This is a Cisitalia... really weird car.

There are a good number of folks that we know from previous events, and the schedule has some fun stuff in it, so it should be a great week.

We then went and enjoyed a fine dinner and an entertaining and brisk drive in the dark back to Basin Harbor.

Next day: The Rally Start!
